The sweeping schedule is planned street by street.
Sweeping and washing work is on the street, not at a point. Akılkent decides which vehicle sweeps which streets on which day and in which order, with water refills, hopper unloading and shift length built into the plan.
By habit: 8 streets twice, 7 neverEvery street once; refills in the plan
Weekly on paper, by habit in the field.
Municipal sweeping schedules define frequency by street class: boulevards and avenues every day, some streets six days a week, some every other day. The schedule does not say which vehicle passes which street in which order; the order is left to the operator's experience.
The result is familiar: main avenues are swept twice a day while side streets are skipped, the vehicle makes unplanned trips for water, and the complaint "our street is never swept" arrives. In metropolitan areas main roads belong to the metropolitan municipality and side streets to the district; at the boundary of the two schedules there is overlap or a gap.
- Mechanical sweepers in one Istanbul district
- 144
- Manual sweeping staff in the same district
- 322
- Road network swept by one metropolitan municipality
- 4,875 km

What does a sweeping route take into account?
Route software written for parcel delivery goes from point to point. In sweeping, the street itself is the job; the rules below must be inside the plan.
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Frequency by street class | Boulevards daily, streets six days, side streets every other day: the weekly schedule is kept street by street. |
| One-way streets and turn restrictions | One-way streets, U-turn bans and left-turn cost come from the real road network. |
| Parking constraint | The two sides of a street are not swept on the same day; one side always stays open for parking. |
| Time windows | Main arteries at night, market squares after closing, school surroundings outside lesson hours. |
| Intermediate stops | Hopper unloading and water refills are placed on the route; the return time is in the plan. |
| Different vehicles | Compact sweepers for narrow streets, truck-mounted sweepers for avenues; both in the same plan. |
| Shift and multi-day work | A street network that does not fit in one day is split across days; the plan stays within the shift. |
| Jurisdiction boundary | Main roads under the metropolitan municipality are excluded from the district plan or planned jointly. |
The rules are compiled from street-sweeping models in the arc routing literature and from Turkish vehicle hire specifications.
How we work
Share your current schedule
The existing schedule showing how often each street is swept is enough. The street network comes from open map data; no extra survey needed.
Define vehicles and crews
Vehicle type, hopper and water tank capacity, shift length, depot and refill points are defined in the interface.
Get the weekly plan and the report
A daily street order for each vehicle, planned kilometres and time; a report of passes per street. No street is skipped.
Getting started
Akılkent's route solver was validated with real data in municipal solid waste operations; the same core runs with this sector's rules. The constraints above are defined for your operation in the first conversation and computed with your own data in the free pre-analysis. We review the results together and, if it fits, start with a trial in one area.
See it with your own data
With your vehicle list and point locations we compute the savings potential of your operation and review the result together. A request is not a purchase commitment.
