Used cooking oil and liquid waste collectors

Go to the point that is full, when it is full.

For companies collecting used cooking oil from restaurants, hotels and canteens. Every point fills at a different rate; the plan visits only the points that are due, returns to the facility when the tank is full, and collects more points per day.

Fixed round: 12 points, 5 half emptyOnly the 7 full points; the rest next time

Only full points are visitedSchematic neighbourhood, twelve used-oil points; the bar next to each point shows its fill level. Today: a fixed round visits all of them and five turn out half empty. With Akılkent: only the seven full points, a shorter route, unloading at the facility.DepotFacility

Many points, and the plan depends on the driver's experience.

Used oil collection means hundreds of small points, each filling at its own pace. In most companies the driver's experience decides which point to visit on which day. A fixed round visits every point and half of them turn out empty; the return to the facility when the tank fills is not in the plan. And when a point is skipped, the customer may switch to a competitor.

  • You carry the cost yourself, so every extra kilometre comes straight out of your margin.
  • Every skipped point is a contract at risk.
  • When the driver changes, the area knowledge leaves with them.

The same structure applies to liquid and hazardous waste collectors working with vacuum trucks and tankers; for licensed transport rules see the hazardous and liquid waste page.

What does the route plan take into account?

Akılkent's route solver was developed in municipal solid waste operations; the constraints are defined for your operation.

RuleWhat it means
Tank capacityWhen the vehicle is full it goes to the facility to unload and continues its route; the return is in the plan.
Visit frequencyEach point is visited on its own cycle; fast-filling points often, slow ones less often.
Fill-level dataThe fill level the driver recorded on the previous visit sets the next visit date.
Working hoursThe restaurant's acceptance hours and the driver's shift are satisfied together.
Vehicle fitSmall vehicles for narrow streets, large tanks for remote areas; the model makes the match.
Full coverageEvery point that is due is assigned to a vehicle; if capacity or shift length is insufficient, unassigned points are listed separately and the additional vehicle need is stated.
One day's collection planSchematic area: twelve used-oil points; filled squares are due today, hollow squares are not yet full. Two vehicles collect only the full points and unload at the facility when the tank is full.DepotFacility

How we work

  1. Free pre-analysis

With your point list and vehicle details we measure your current routes and report the kilometres that can be saved.

  2. Trial in one area

A few weeks with one vehicle and one area. Planned and actual kilometres are presented side by side.

  3. Whole fleet

The service runs on a monthly subscription; the plan is regenerated as the point list changes. Private-sector decisions are quick; moving from pre-analysis to trial can take weeks.

Getting started

Akılkent's route solver was validated with real data in municipal solid waste operations; the same core runs with this sector's rules. The constraints above are defined for your operation in the first conversation and computed with your own data in the free pre-analysis. We review the results together and, if it fits, start with a trial in one area.

See it with your own data

With your vehicle list and point locations we compute the savings potential of your operation and review the result together. A request is not a purchase commitment.
